Participants in the project "Compass – 2009" will be 234 Ukrainian University 3-4 accreditation to provide training bachelors and masters in five areas: business / economic profession, law, engineering professions, information technology (IT), architecture / construction. Ranking for "Compass" have developed a special methodology that takes into account the information obtained as a result of complex case studies. These studies assess the extent to which education services to the labor market, and – an overall assessment of higher education such target groups as employers (Representatives of large and medium-sized businesses), graduates (graduates of Ukrainian universities in 2003-2008.) Employers – experts (representatives of enterprises in activities which involve experts designated areas). During the research will be surveyed 1,000 large and medium-sized employers and 1,200 graduates across the territory of Ukraine. "Ranking" Compass "is essentially a completely application project, as it focuses primarily on the result of learning, that is, the practical value of knowledge received by students, – said Natalia Yemchenko, Director of Public Relations and Communications at SCM. – In other words, this rating allows prospective students make informed choices about university and, therefore, is a true compass in higher educational institutions of Ukraine. " The pilot project "Ranking" Compass "has been implemented in the past, in 2008, and became the first national rating, reflecting the assessment of the quality of education by potential employers as well – graduates.
The project has been identified universities, training which has the greatest practical value and meets the requirements the real economy, as well as most offers strong employment prospects. "In 2009 we intend to improve our ratings – to make it even more practical and useful, and above all – due to the deeper work with employers who participated in the study, a list which we will publish. We also plan to significantly change the electronic page of the project. In addition, this year we started another project on higher education in Ukraine – "Discussion Club ". Its mission – to provide a permanent and constructive cooperation between universities and major employers. Through projects such as the "Ranking" Compass "and" discussion club "representatives of Ukrainian universities, employers and educational experts will be able to hear each other, share experiences, and thus find ways to solve problems related to training and further employment of young specialists "- added Natalia Yemchenko.
